As part of the overall development of the web complex, the Obesity Portal website has received a new theme. The new theme was developed on a development server and transferred to the live server with minimal fuss and without the need to re-enter any content.
The move was part of preparation for a move from an academic obesity information site to a obesity information commercial site. This site is the hub of a number of sites. A number of other sites are built in sub domains and address various component areas associated with the overall objective of the web complex.
The diabetes risk calculator was developed for use with the Centre for Obesity Research and Epidemiology (CORE) and is being integrated into the Obesity Portal Website.
The NOF calculator was developed for inclusion on the NOF website. It is a ‘cut down’ version of the main Obesicalc that is used in the Obesity Portal. The application will calculate the BMI based on either imperial or metric values. The result is ‘clickable’ and will take the visitor to specific pages that can be controlled by the customer.
This a smaller version of the Obesicalc BMI calculator deployed on the Obesity Portal website. The calculator will accept both Imperial and metric input and produce a medical definition of the resultant BMI figure. The output can then be clicked on and it will take the user to a predefined page which supplies an overview of the meaning of the resultant rating. This calculator is designed for medical professionals, hence the medical rating.
